On Monday, July 24, 2023, His Excellency Sheikh Nadim Gemayel, led a delegation from the Political Bureau of the Lebanese Phalanges Party to the Chaldean Diocese of Beirut, where he met with His Excellency Bishop Michel Kassarji, primate of the Chaldean Church in Lebanon, Mr. Antoine Hakim, Monsignor Rafael Traboulsi, and representatives of the various movements in Lebanon.
The delegation condemned the dangerous historical precedent by which His Beatitude Patriarch Mar Louis Raphael Sako’s role as the father and head of the Chaldean Church in the world was disadvantaged, to the point of ending his participation from handling church properties and foundations, as stated at the meeting’s conclusion by both His Excellency the Primate of the Chaldean Diocese and His Excellency Representative Gemayel.
