On Friday morning 1-1-2021, Bishop Michel Kassarji, Primate  of the Chaldean Church in Lebanon,  presided over New Year’s Divine Liturgy, at the Saint Elias Church (Dekwaneh).

After the Gospel, Bishop Kassarji delivered a sermon in which he emphasized that celebrating Mass at the beginning of the year is a sign of our hope for a year full of joy and peace despite all the hardships we face, and he wished that this year would be a year of security and peace for Lebanon, Iraq and the whole world.

At the end of the mass, Bishop Kassarji handed the prize of competition of the “Best Creche”, which the diocese had launched a few weeks ago in an initiative to encourage our families to enter Christmas in an atmosphere of joy and hope.
