On August 7, 2023, Bishop Michel Kassarji, the Primate of the Chaldean Church in Lebanon, paid a visit to His Holiness Patriarch Mar Aphrem II Karim, Patriarch of the Orthodox Church of Antioch, in the presence of a number of Syriac bishops from Lebanon and beyond, at the Patriarchate headquarters in Atchaneh, and topics concerning the two churches were discussed.
Bishop Kassarji also welcomed his Beatitude and the bishops to the Chaldean Diocese of Beirut’s evening of prayer on behalf of the Chaldean Church in Iraq. His Beatitude expressed his sympathy with His Beatitude Patriarch Cardinal Louis Sako and the Chaldean Church, praying that the problem would be resolved for the sake of the Chaldean Church in Iraq and the world.
