On August 3, 2023, at the request of Bishop Boulos Abdel Sater, Maronite Metropolitan of Beirut, the primate of the Chaldean Church in Lebanon, Bishop Michel Kassarji, took part in the Divine Liturgy commemorating the third anniversary of the Beirut Port explosion at Saint Georgios Cathedral in the city center. In the presence of the papal ambassador of Lebanon, a number of bishops, priests, monks and nuns, relatives of the martyrs, and representatives and activists from Beirut, Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi performed the holy sacrifice.
